Dorothy Hafner is an American ceramist and glass artist.  In 1979 she established Art In Dining in New York City, under which she designed porcelain tableware for Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co. and other luxury firms.  From 1982 she began a partnership with Rosenthal Studio Line, resulting in the popular FLASH and other patterns.  Her works of the period share a similar 1980s post-modernist aesthetic with those of Peter Shire, Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis Milano group.  From 1997 she turned her attention to works in glass.  Hafner’s works are represented in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and other prestigious collections.
