    Description

Born in Budapest, Deutch (1904-1959) was a student of Brancusi in France before immigrating to the US. He settled in Chicago where he opened a studio and taught for many years at The Art Institute. He also taught at The Lewis Institute, home of the New Bauhaus, along with renowned faculty member Mies van der Rohe ("Less is more"), and counted Frank Lloyd Wright among his many patrons. His work is part of the permanent collection of several museums, and remains highly prized by collectors today.
This beautiful bowl is handcrafted into an abstract, triangular shape with sloped sides. It measures 6 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3" , with a green gray granite glaze. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. Signed E Deutch.
