    Description

    Bold handsome design! Offered is a modernist stoneware vessel manufactured by Zanesville Stoneware Company of Zanesville Ohio. Part of their “Stone Age Modern” range ca.1960’s. Simple architectural shapes are given visual interest with an incised concentric surface treatment. Wonderfully textured with a random variegated glaze treatment in earthen tones.This lovely rendered in variations of oatmeal with splashes of bronze and drippy bright white. Photo #12 shows two other pieces not included in this listing but shows how powerful they look in mass!.Dimension: 12” tall x 5 3/4” at the lip. Signed 4012 (photo #3) In excellent vintage condition with normal characteristics of this pottery...never “perfect”... not intended to be....it is this that makes them so appealing and so fitting of their name...
