VINTAGE 1939 AKRO AGATE SLAG GLASS PIECE FROM CHILDREN'S TEA SET - THIS IS A TEAPOT (WITHOUT LID)
COULD BE USED AS CREAMER
ART DECO SHAPE - WONDERFUL SLAG AQUA BLUE WITH SOME MARBLING
THIS PIECE SHOWS THE AKRO AGATE MARK ON BASE BUT IT IS VERY FAINT - HARD TO SEE
MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY THAT ORIGINALLY MADE MARBLES!
Measures 2 1/2 inches tall by 3 3/8 inches wide handle to lip
Piece in very good condition - no cracks or fractures - Usable and giftable!!
SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER AKRO AGATE:
Produced in the late 1930s, right before war time and the depression.
This company made the marbles that are so famous and sought-after. In 1938 they purchased a larger manufacturing plant. There were molds for children's tea sets and other items, such as ashtrays and flower pots. They decided to use the molds with the same colorful slag glass used for marbles. The results were very fun, the glass thick, so actually useful and safe for the children to play with.
Unfortunately, with the start of the war, it was not cost-effective to produce. People could not afford these pieces during that depressed time. So these pieces became very rare and collectable.

INSURANCE: I highly recommend purchasing insurance to protect your investment. I package very carefully and you can check my feedback to see that my buyers are happy. International customers – You are responsible for all applicable import duty and \ or tax fees.   NOTE:  If item damaged in shipping - All damaged packaging materials, box and damaged item should be saved and photographed.  Insurance is suggested if you have a concern.
REFUNDS & RETURNS: All items are sold "AS IS" unless I have grossly misrepresented the item in the description. If so, I will provide a full refund including the shipping TO your location; I will not be responsible for any applicable duty and/or import tax fees.  Buyer is to pay for return shipping. I DO NOT refund due to Buyers Remorse on any item.
